Latin American football classic: Sabella admits Brazil played better

Sabella recognized Brazilian fair game.
Argentine coach for the national team Alejandro Sabella admitted today – upon returning to Buenos Aires after yesterday’s match in Belem – Brazil “played better.

Brazil defeated Argentina 2-0 in the second leg of the South American derby and won the Americas Super Classic Cup. Brazilian player Lucas opened the score only 8' after the kick-off of the second half of the game, and at 29', Neymar netted the second goal.

The match was held at Pará state Olympic State and over 40 thousand people attended the Latin American classic.According to coach Sabella, Brazilian performance took Argentine team by surprise. “The overall performance was better. We have to admit it,” he confessed. The two teams had met previously in a scoreless game in Cordoba.

“ We were dedicated and solid though,” Sabella defended his team. “ For the first leg with were clearly outsmarted them, but for the second round we had a lot of missed goal opportunities, more chances than Brazil,” Sabella explained.

Argentine team is scheduled to play next in Chile at October 7th for a place on the next World Cup, to be celebrated in Brazil in 2014.
