Boudou goes to Lower House
Economy Minister Amado Boudou will formally present and defend the 2012 draft Budget at the Lower House of Congress today.
Boudou’s presence in Congress will mark the official start to the debate over the Budget bill that the Executive sent to lawmakers on September 15.
It will mark the last presentation of this kind Boudou will carry out as Economy Minister since the Victory Front’s vice-presidential candidate will become the head of the Senate if, as expected, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner wins reelection on October 23.
Last year’s Budget bill was never approved by Congress amid partisan rancour, but its passage is widely seen as assured this year.
