Poverty levels drop to 8.3%

The Indec national statistics bureau confirmed that the poverty levels lowered in the first semester of the year, as President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner had previously reported.

The levels dropped to 8.3 percent, compared to the volume reported by the end of last year, when it reached to 9.9 percent.

According to the official report, the absolute poverty levels fell to 2.4 percent compared to the 2.5 percent registered by the end of 2010.
