Cabinet Chief laughs at skyrocketing dollar rumours
Cabinet Chief Aníbal Fernández played down all rumours indicating that the dollar exchange rate could skyrocket after the presidential elections to be held in October 23.
“It seems like in the verge of elections, there’s always someone trying to arise discontent among the population."
Asked if he is worried about the dollar growing price, the minister “no one should be worried about it”, and added, “As former president Néstor Kirchner said, and then her wife, President Cirstina Fernández de Kirchner, repeated when she arrived into power, this model contemplates a controlled dollar flotation.”
Likewise, Fernández remarked that “the dollar price is always aimed to be one that makes a competitive country.”
