Hebe de Bonafini: ‘Rats, snakes got together at Congress’

The head of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Foundation, Hebe de Bonafini.

The head of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Foundation, Hebe de Bonafini, considered that the visit of the organization’s former financial manager, Sergio Schoklender, to Congress brought together “the rats with the snakes.”

“For a long time, people said that Congress was a rats’ nest. Today they are also referring to it as the rats’ nest and here they are, since 10am, the rats gathered with the snakes,” Bonafini said at Plaza de Mayo square.

Bonafini added that “they wanted to destroy us (the foundation), but they couldn’t,” referring to the investigation of alleged money laundering and embezzlement charges that involves Mothers of Plaza de Mayo.

Nevertheless, she assured that they will continue building the houses of the programme because “we haven’t disappointed the people” and insisted that the one who stole from them was “Schoklender.”
