Sarkozy praises Argentina's growth after meeting with CFK

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner met today with her counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on the third and last day of her official visit to France. Sarkozy praised Argentina's economic development and CFK's leading role in Latin America. According to Foreign Minister Héctor Timmerman, the presidents also talked about the speculative market, the trade of raw materials, among other issues.

The summit lasted around 45 minutes. CFK was accompanied by Argentine Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman, Argentine Ambassador in Paris Aldo Ferrer and Legal Secretary Carlos Zannini.

Yesterday, CFK inaugurated a photographic exhibition about the Dakar Rally editions in Argentina at the countries’ Embassy. She also signed an agreement to bring the MotoGP motorcycle tourney, the most important event of its kind, back to Argentina.

The previous day CFK met with the relatives of Cassandra Bouvier, one of the two French tourist girls assassinated in the Province of Salta. Sarkozy complemented Kirchner for the fast resolution of the case” and said it “added to Argentina’s credibility.”

After leaving the French Government House, CFK headed to a the ceremony at the UNESCO building in which an award will be granted to the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo.
