Moreno Veloso, the son of Brazilian music star, Caetano Veloso, was in charge of the inauguration of the upcoming Brazilian nights at Niceto Club, officially bringing Brazil Month to Argentina.
The people began to crowd the club by 9pm, and waited for the show to begin with Caipirinhas in their hands, listening to bossa nova music. Half an hour later, Veloso’s backing band, Nacho & Los Caracoles, satisfied the crowd that gathered in front of the stage.
The Argentine band led by Nacho Rodríguez played nine songs, including Moreno’s song Sertão, and left the stage leaving the people ready to receive the Brazilian singer.
At 10:25pm the curtains were opened and Moreno Veloso began his show playing “Um passo a frente,” a song by Brazilian singer of popular music Gal Costa, who is also his godmother, and he continued with Maria Bethania’s “So vendo que beleza.”
The son of one of the most famous singers of Brazil took the chance to present some pieces of his new CD that will be released “soon,” as he assured to his fans and played along with Nacho & Los Caracoles “Cantale,” a song of the Argentine band.
In the last hour of the show, Veloso performed several songs of his last CD, “Máquina de escrever música” (Music Typewriter) and even accompanied his drummer Rafael Rocha, who sang “Samba do Blackberry,” which belongs to his band Tono.
The singer ended his show with “Arrivederci,” but rapidly answered to the crowd’s request to return and performed “Deusa de amor.”
To conclude the show, Veloso changed the guitar for a plate and a knife which he used as an instrument and even danced a little samba.
The nights at the club to celebrate the Brazilian month in Argentina are not over and will continue until the end of September with the presentation of well-known artists such as CéU and Macaco Bong, among others.
