CFK travels to France to meet with Sarkozy
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner travelled to France accompanied by Foreign Minister, Héctor Timerman. The official visit will begin its planned activities on Monday. The President is to meet with her French pair, Nicolas Sarkozy, on Wednesday, news sources informed.
The head of State is to meet with Sarkozy on Wednesday at the Palais de l'Élysée, a French government source said.
It has been predicted that the progress of the crime investigation case, into the murder of two female tourists in Salta province last July will be one of the topics of discussion between the two heads of State.
The French President spoke with Fernández de Kirchner by telephone in August, to “congratulate the Argentine justice system and the police service for their efforts” to try to resolve the case which currently remains under investigation and for which three men remain arrested.
During the visit, Fernández de Kirchner will attend an UNESCO event, at which Estela de Carlotto, head of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo will be presented with the Felix Houphouet-Boigny 2010 peace award.
