Woman trying to sell TV screen online shot dead at her home

A woman was killed last night, after she was shot in the chest at her house in the neighbourhood of Flores. The youths who shot her had faked wanting to buy an LCD television screen which the victim had published for sale on an internet selling website, sources from the Security Ministry informed.

The incident occurred around 9 pm last night in an apartment along Gustavo Riccio 194 street, where a woman named Laura was found, alongside her husband Gabriel, her brother-in-law and her nephew.

According to sources, the woman and her husband had put the LCD screen up for sale on Mercado Libre (Argentina’s version of Ebay), in order to shift some of their possessions before going on holiday.

In what seemed to be a safe sale, a couple responded to their post on the website and organised to meet the next day to put the sale through.

Yesterday, the couple were expecting the buying couple to arrive, and instead were met with youths holding firearms, threatening everyone, trying to rob them.

Sources said that the owner of the house tried to resist against attackers, moving out on to the first floor balcony where he fell onto a parked car.  In that moment the youths tried to escape and as they left, they shot the woman in the chest.

Police arrived to the scene minutes later with an ambulance team, who took the victim to the closest hospital, however the woman died on arrival.
