Witness: sixth suspect detained in Candela case is 'the one who murdered her'
A witness whose identity remains protected provided the Morón court with additional information regarding the Candela Rodríguez murder case, and assured that the person who murdered her “is a shady guy named Hugo who roams the victim’s neighbourhood and had problems with her family.”
Authorities detained a sixth suspect, the man named Hugo, who is believed to be related to the murder of the 11-year-old girl.
The man, who could become the sixth person arrested in the case, lives two blocks away from Kiernan 900, where the girl was supposedly held hostage. His home was raided by the police earlier this afternoon in order to look for clues.
On August 23rd, one day after the girls’ disappearance, the witness assures that he saw Néstor Altamirano (a carpenter currently under arrest) next to his wife. He was holding a bag, a Tupperware, some money and travel tickets. “His wife was acting strange,” he added, suggesting that she was looking all around her.
“In the afternoon I was strolling by and noticed that Candela was right around the corner from my house. Néstor the carpenter had taken her some food. On that day (Tuesday), Néstor and his 24-year old nephew…took Candela,” who he says went along with them willingly.
“Candela was promised she would be given food and clothes and they took her to Néstor and Nelly’s home, located on Charrúas 1081,” Villa Tesei.
“That Tuesday night when we were all sleeping, I heard as if someone was being gagged and some scratches on the wall,” he says, adding that a while later he heard “a car screeching to a halt and a girls screaming for help.”
“They put her inside Néstor’s nephew’s blue car and took her to the house on Kiernan street.”
He then said that “Nelly didn’t really go away on a trip and came back on Tuesday night. Everyone saw her. On Wednesday night I walked by the house with the pink façade and saw Nelly and Néstor inside.”
“I saw Néstor’s fingernails stained with pink paint, he was hurt and had a long hair hanging from a nail,” he explained.
“Hugo is a shady guy who roams the neighbourhood, and I saw him at the pink house too. I also saw Néstor entering the house with a grey bag in his hand. The bag was empty. People in the neighbourhood say that it was Hugo who killed her. He went too far. Hugo knew Candela and her family, and had problems with them,” he concludes.
