Brazil stay with derby against Argentina

Argentina’s national basketball team was defeated by Brazil by 73-71 in a new South American derby during the match for the Groups round of the Pre-Olympic tournament held in Mar del Plata city.

In the game held at the Polideportivo Islas Malvinas stadium, the team coached by Rubén Magnano (former coach of Argentina) defeated the ones coached by Julio Lamas.

Scola had to leave the basket court after committing his fifth foul and was replaced by Juan Gutiérrez.

Argentina will face Dominican Republic on Thursday in the last match for the Groups round.
