Del Potro defeated by Simon at US Open
Gilles Simon (L) of France and Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina meet at the net.
Juan Martín Del Potro fell to French Gilles Simon 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2 and 7-6 (3) in a US Open game that lasted almost four hours.
Inconsistent and visibly exhausted during the last minutes of the game, Del Potro, suffered an unexpected defeat, specially after he seemed to be in control during the first half of the game.
The game lasted three hours and 57 minutes.
