Buenos Aires stocks edge up

Buenos Aires stocks closed with gains as the Merval benchmark index edged up by 2.05 percent, to 2,943.25 points. Argentina's country-risk dropped 2.8 percent to 737 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.

The US dollar traded for AR$4.17/AR$4.215, remaining unchanged compared to the previous closing price in the main banks and bureau de change in Buenos Aires downtown.
