The Progressive Front launches its joint Congress bloc

Progressive Front senators and lawmakers officially launched their caucus in both the Upper and Lower Houses, with the aim of expressing in Congress the ideas that “politically” represent them and gain power in light of the October elections.

They announced that the first bill they will support will be that of the single ballot. The party’s presidential candidate, Hermes Binner, was not present during the launch. Vice-presidential candidate Norma Morandini led the rally and stressed that the Front “is not a sum of lawmakers” but rather that it was born to “politically express” in the Congress what the Progressive Front stands for.

“We will present a single ballot bill because it implies a big step forward in institutional means. Santa Fe and Córdoba provinces proved it,” Morandini stated.

Likewise, Socialist Senator Rubén Giustiniani said that the members of the caucus will “work together in defense of provinces, Indec national statistics bureau and 82 percent increase for pensioners,” among other topics.

Buenos Aires province gubernatorial candidate Margarita Stolbizer praised Binner, and said the Santa Fe Governor “embodies a new type of leadership, he is an example of behaviour and efficient administration,”.

Solidarity and Equality lawmaker Eduardo Macaluse, who will not seek to renew his seat in Congress in the October elections, said that the caucus hopes to “add lawmakers in both Houses” after December 10th.
