Church warns over 'consequences' of abortion's legalization
The Argentine Episcopal Conference (CEA) affirmed that if the Congress approves the law that legalizes abortion, it will generate “judicial, cultural and ethical consequences.”
“A legislative decision that approves the legalization of abortion will have judicial, cultural and ethical consequences. The laws configure the culture of the cities and a legislation that does not protect life benefits the culture of death. The law, based in a judicial order, has a pedagogical sense for life in society,” stated the CEA in a communiqué.
The bishops signed the statement during an encounter in the framework of the 159° summit of the Permanent Committee of the CEA in Buenos Aires City, headed by Buenos Aires archbishop, Jorge Bergoglio.
