AFA allow clubs to receive visitor’s fans

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) allowed yesterday the clubs to receive away fans in the four promotion divisions. Each club will have the last decision after consulting with their local Security Board.

In a controversial meeting with the officials of the National B division, AFA’s President Julio Humberto Grondona — who was only there 15 minutes — stated the intention of making the visitoring fans’ return possible after the 4-year ban.

Grondona also thanked Independiente Rivadavia of Mendoza President, Daniel Vila, for the detailed organization of the 15,000 River Plate fans who went to Malvinas Argentinas stadium last Saturday.

Away fans are banned in the AFA promotion division after the clash between Nueva Chicago and Tigre in the 2007 promotion playoffs, where a Tigre fan was killed.
