'Duhalde, Alfonsín and Biolcatti are enemies,' Bonafini
Mothers of Plaza de Mayo leader Hebe de Bonafini said that those who oppose President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s administration are “enemies” and that they “work within the shadows.”
The human rights activist thus blasted the main opposition leaders Eduardo Duhalde, Ricardo Alfonsín and Liasion Board member Hugo Biolcatti, and said they “must start to work.”
“There are enemies, no opponents. Enemies that work within the shadows. Biolcatti, Duhalde, Alfonsín are enemies. They are all as bad as each other. Hermes Binner is an opponent, a man who has done a job. We need a serious opposition, one that really works,” Bonafini stated.
“They opposition members make foolish remarks, offend, insult, some of them believe they are fortune-tellers, other don’t know how do politics,” she added.
Regarding President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s successful primaries result, in which she ended up first with more than 50 percent of votes, Bonafini said that she didn’t expect such massive support. “We have to support Cristina in anything she proposes. Us Mothers will support in anything that is necessary and in anything the President asks.”
Regarding the scandal surrounding former Mothers of Plaza de Mayo financial manager Sergio Schoklender, who is accused of malfeasance and money laundering. Bonafini refused to talk about it, although she clarified that the foundation willkeep up with the building of housing works. “We will move forward with the homes, nothing that we have done will be halted,” she added.
