Alfonsín: ‘I don’t believe in the Gov’t when it announces dialogue’
Social Development Union (UDESO) presidencial candidate Ricardo Alfonsín assured that he does not believe in “the government when it announces dialogue and institutional vocation.”
“In 2007, they had promised a new era of dialogue and institutional quality, but three months later they did the opposite, and advanced harder on the institutions. I don’t doubt that this government doesn’t have a republican vocation,” he continued.
UDESO’s candidate ruled out the possibility of withdrawing from his candidacy, because he has a “great responsibility.”
“There were 2,600,000 Argentines who voted for me. I have to work in my ideas for those who voted for me. And I hope that we take into account that the future is also built, and that is built by the present. Time will tell us if we are right,” Alfonsín said.
He also insisted that he will “keep on working to represent the 50 percent who did not voted for the pro-government party,” although he did recognize that “it won’t be easy.”
