French woman murdered in Salta was raped by two men, test results suggest
According to judicial sources, 29-year old Cassandre Bouvier, one of the two French tourists murdered in the Salta province last month, was raped by at least two people before she was murdered.
“We couldn’t match the genetic samples extracted from the victim’s body to any of the suspects since there were several rapists involved,” a source who had access to the conclusions reached by the DNA Analysis Lab at the University of Buenos Aires, which conducted the tests.
The source explained that “by having several DNA strains they just couldn’t found a match,” he said, although he warned that the judge investigating the case, Martín Pérez, has yet to see the results of a DNA test performed on some hair found on the victim’s hand, believed to belong to one of the rapists.
Genetic tests performed on the DNA samples extracted from the body of 24-year old Houria Moumni, however, determined that she was sexually abused by Gustavo Lasi, currently the main suspect in the double-murder case.
The bodies of the two French girls were found last July 29 in the Quebrada de San Lorenzo reserve, in the Salta province. Both had been shot and killed.
Besides 24-year old Gustavo Lasi, a tour guide in the area, other seven people remain in custody, including her father, Walter, and his girlfriend, María Fernanda Cañizares.
