Cannabis field found under General Paz motorway

A fire broke out underneath a part of the General Paz motorway this morning, in the City neighbourhood of Saavedra, destroying a cardboard deposit consequently uncovering a secret cannabis field, which was also hit by the fire, informed police sources.

The fire broke out close to 3 am this morning, and was reported to emergency services by neighbours living in the area, who immediately called the police and fire department.

The site, located underneath the General Paz motorway bridge, where it crosses over Maipú Avenue, between Saavedra and Vicente López neighbourhoods, was being used as a cardboard deposit, sources informed the press.

After the fire was put out, firefighters discovered the 80-metre stretch of land containing 35 cannabis plants, which had also been hit by the flames.

Police were working in the area alongside justice officials.
