As elections close, four provinces define their governor
Only four provinces have elected their candidates for Governor in the first primary election of the country. The kirchnerite party appeared to be the winner in Buenos Aires, San Juan and Entre Ríos, while in San Luis, the current provincial Cabinet Chief, Justicialist Claudio Poggi, took the lead.
San Juan’s Governor who is running for the re-election, José Luis Gioja, had a wide difference over the candidates of the opposition.
In Buenos Aires province, the gubernatorial candidate representing President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s party, Daniel Scioli, has defeated his opponents from the same bloc, Mario Ishii and Martín Sabbatella, and the candidates for the opposition parties.
Meanwhile, in Entre Ríos province, the pro-government candidate Sergio Urribarri has almost reached 50 percent of the votes, leaving his opponent from the same bloc, Gerardo Domínguez, out of October’s Victory Front ballot.
In the only province where the pro-government candidates did not win is in San Luis, where the candidate of the current Governor and presidential candidate Alberto Rodríguez Saá, Claudio Poggi, has received more than 50% of the votes.
