Del Potro to face Federer in Cincinnati’s 2nd round
Tennis player Juan Martín Del Potro reached the second round of Cincinnati Masters’ second round in which he will face Swiss Roger Federer, after defeating Italian Andreas Seppi in his debut.
The 19 seeded player from Tandil and winner of Delray Beach and Estoril tournaments, eliminated Seppi (52) by 4-1 and the Italian retired due to an injury in the left foot after 26 minutes.
Del Potro will now face with third seeded Swiss Roger Federer, who has entered in the competition directly in the second round and has already won Cincinnati in four occasions: 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010.
The Argentine has lost six matches to the Swiss (Wimbledon and Basel 2007, Madrid 2008, Australia, Madrid and Roland Garros 2009), and won the last two (final of 2009 US Open and Barclays 2009).
On Monday, David Nalbandian (51) will face a beginner player who has achieved the classification and, if he advances, he will then face Scottish Andy Murray (4), winner of the tournament in 2008.
Juan Ignacio Chela (22) will also play on Monday before US player Ryan Harrison (76), who has 19 years old.
Meanwhile, Juan “Pico” Mónaco will play the initial round against German Tommy Haas (505), and if he wins, then he will face the Czech Tomas Berdych (9).
