Primary elections 'not a poll,' Amado Boudou stresses
Cristina Fernández de Kirchner running mate and Economy Minister Amado Boudou responded today to the accusations that first time held primary elections are an expensive poll aimed to measure CFK´s popularity.
“To say that primary elections are a poll is to underestimate democracy,” the minister said as he left the voting booth this morning. Boudou voted around 10h40 at Puerto Madero’s Catholic University in Buenos Aires City.
The contender for the Victory Front called Argentines to cast their votes today and further stressed the importance of the newly implemented primary elections. “It is a new scenario. Argentines have the opportunity to express their opinion. More people voting the better.”
“This mechanism offers equal opportunities to candidates. We are kicking off national elections today,” he highlighted. “Democracy is composed by political parties, and we have to strengthen their participation.”
He also vowed to keep working on his campaign and recognized it was an “analytical moment.”
