Sabella appointed new coach for Argentina
Alejandro Sabella was appointed as the new coach of the Argentine national football team, after Sergio Batista’s run became short-lived following the team's early knock-out from the Copa América 2011 football tournament.
Sabella, aged 56, was presented with the role in a formal ceremony at the Argentine Football Association (AFA) site in the Buenos Aires province area of Ezeiza.
The ex-coach of Estudiantes de La Plata will have ex-colleaguaes Julián Camino and Claudio Gugnali on the technical team, with Pablo Blanco as the new physical trainer of the football stars captained by Lionel Messi.
This won’t be the first time Sabella has worked with the Selección team, as he used to work on the technical team, headed by technical coach Daniel Passarella (1994-1998).
