'Mr Bean' injured in a car accident

Atkinson playing his widely-known role, ''Mr Bean''.

British actor Rowan Atkinson, known for his role as “Mr Bean,” was rushed into hospital in England today after being injured in a car accident, British media reported.

Atkinson suffered a shoulder injury after crashing his car into a tree and lamppost, subsequently catching fire afterward, Ansa news agency reported.

The accident occurred along a B-road that runs through Cambridgeshire, in the centre of England.

British media informed that the actor managed to climb out of his McLaren F1 and asked for help from cars passing by, who called the ambulance.

Fire fighters arrived to the scene of the crash and put out the flames that destroyed the sports car.

Atkinson was taken to Peterborough Hospital, where he was treated for his shoulder injuries.

The famous actor shot to fame in England after starring in BBC series ‘Blackadder’, however he is better known for his role as ‘Mr Bean’.

The new edition of the ‘Johnny English’ films is to be released soon.
