Randazzo meets with Servini de Cubría, reaches agreement over primary elections
Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo and City electoral Federal Judge María Romilda Servini de Cubría agreed to “apply all necessary measures” so the August 14th. open primaries “can be held without any inconveniences” in the City of Buenos Aires.
Randazzo and Servini de Cubría met at the Government House and discussed “the importance of allowing the Electoral Justice “carry on with their work regarding the organization and implementation of the elections without dealing with any major inconveniences.”
Previously, Servini de Cubría had denounced the alleged lack of economic resources in the City in order to conduct the August 14th primaries and the general elections on October 23rd.
The National Government rejected her statements and guaranteed that the elections would take place as scheduled.
“I don’t understand what the fuzz is all about," Electoral National Director Alejandro Tullio said. “She will be given whatever’s necessary. This happens all the time. Judges talk about their needs and the Government listens to their needs and solves them.”
However, Servini de Cubría repeated that “if the necessary conditions are not given, I won’t be a part of it. I will not be made a fool of,” she said.
“I need at least a million pesos and we’ve received $105,000,” she concluded.
