Two French tourists found dead in Salta
Two female tourists on holiday in the northern province of Salta were found dead today along a private touristic trek in Quebrada de Villa San Lorenzo, police officers said. It was reported that both French women were shot dead while hiking, and that one had been raped.
The bodies were discovered by a passing-by couple from Chaco, who were walking along a tourist trail in the area, at a point which is reached after over an hour’s walk.
Police officials reported that the women, presumed to be aged around 30-years old, were
found by the roadside, both with shotgun wounds.
The remains were taken to the morgue, for officials to carry out an autopsy and then conclude the cause of death, which has been predicted to have been caused by the gunshots they received.
