Light aircraft crashes into houses in northern England
A light aircraft crashed into two houses in northwest England, police said.
The plane came down in Salford, Manchester, shortly after mid-day, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement. There was no immediate word on whether anyone had been killed.
"A cordon is in place and the other emergency services are also working at the scene," the statement said. "It is not known what injuries people have suffered at this stage."
