Aeroparque flights cancelled until Wednesday due to volcanic ash cloud

Domestic and most international flights have been cancelled until Wednesday due to the ash cloud spewed by Chilean volcano Puyehué.

Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral airlines decided to cancel all domestic flights until Wednesday morning. Only three flights will depart from Ezeiza airport. Flight AR1132 will heading to Madrid will depart at 11.45 pm, while due to depart flight AR1385, headed to Mexico departed at 11.50 pm and flight 1302  departed at 11.55 headed towards Miami.

However, Aerolíneas clarified that the flights’ departures will depend on the weather conditions and whether there is volcanic ash in the atmosphere.

Other airlines including Sol, Pluna, Tam and Andes have also decided to cancel domestic flights untiil Wednesday. The National Administration of Civil Aviation spokesman , Juan Pablo Biondi said that “conditions aren’t apt for flying.”

“We are verifying the presence of volcanic ash which affect flight conditions until tomorrow morning,” Biondi warned.
