Garré acknowledges possible 'police negligence' over San Telmo death
Security Minister Nilda Garré spoke out this morning over the case of the young man who was killed yesterday in San Telmo by a Federal Police officer, and acknowledged that “at the very least, this was a case of negligence” by way of the police. The incident has been described as a freak accident, and the police officer responsible remains in custody.
The security minister also mentioned that “for a gun to fall to the ground and off by itself is not common,” as she spoke with the press about the happenings before victim before 22-year old Ariel Domínguez received a bullet to the neck and died as a result.
Garré revealed that “tests have already been carried out to know exactly how the shot was fired and the direction of the shot has been analysed,” to be able to determine how the incident occurred. It was also mentioned that it will be established whether the policeman involved “adopted all possible measures” to prevent the tragedy from occurring.
