Burstein: 'Macri doesn't deserve the respect from the Jewish community'

Sergio Burstein, member of the Family and Friends Association for the Victims of AMIA attack, lashed out at Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri saying "he does not deserve" the respect from the Jewish community.

"The time and the judiciary have proved us right. Our attitude of speaking out made Macri to hate and despise us. He does not deserve respect as he never respected the victims of Amia," he added.

Earlier he blasted former President Carlos Menem for its roll in the investigation that followed the blast.

During a radio interview, Burstein condemned the former chief of state for not doing enough to ensure the arrest of the terrorists responsible for the attack. “He does not deserve a congress seat, the only place he should be is in jail,” Burstein stated.

“It this was a country with capital letter this gentleman would have his seat, but in jail,” he added. He also talked about families’ disbelief regarding the latest breakthroughs on the investigation. “We don’t believe a thing they say.”

“The best condolences they can give us is to find out the ones responsible for the attack,” he remarked.
