AMIA chief thanks CFK for attending ceremony but says 'it's not enough'

A man walks over the rubble left after a bomb exploded at the AMIA in Buenos Aires, 18 July 1994.
The head of AMIA Jewish Association Guillermo Borger spoke this morning during the 17th anniversary ceremony held to remember the victims of the 194 terrorist attack and urged authorities to investigate the so called “local connection” of the attack.

Borger thanked President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for attending the ceremony although he affirmed “it is not enough” and asked for “immediate justice.”

In his speech, Borger also blasted pro-government picketer Luis D’Elía, who had repeatedly supported Iranian officials who were explicitly accused in the investigation.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was attending the ceremony at AMIA’s attack site at 633 Pasteur Street. A siren marked the exact moment of the 1994 attack in which 85 people were killed and hundreds were injured.
