'I never discussed my decision of taking part of the second round with CFK,' Filmus
Mayoral candidate Daniel Filmus, assured he “never” discussed his decision of taking part of the second round with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, which will take place on July 31st against Mauricio Macri.
“I defined that, and I made up my mind at 6.01 pm last Sunday. The thought of turning my back on the Constitution never crossed my mind.
Regarding rumours he would desist on taking part of the runoff, Filmus said “those are rumours that certain newspapers make up.”
“The Victory Front is not the kind of party that doesn’t show up in important circumstances,” Senator Filmus added, possibly reffering to former President Carlos Menem, who desisted from taking part a second round against Néstor Kirchner in 2003.
“Our challenge for the second round is to build a new majority. We are launching the Encounter for Equality, in order to to group that 53 percent that didn’t vote for Macri, and to make those who voted for him reconsider their vote and summon those who didn’t vote on the first."
“Those who support us are the ones who share with the national Government programme as well and want to see that Government progamme in the City. Today we appeal to those who believe that we have to build a new majority in the City, based on equality,” he added.
