Gov't rules out restrictions in trade with Brazil

The trade relation Argentina has with Brazil does not have restrictions and “it’s common that some differences appear” when it counts with a bilateral trade that will reach the 40 billion dollars this year, sources from the Industry Minsitry affirmed.

The same sources highlighted that “we cannot talk about restrictions if we take into account that the Argentine imports from Brazil soared 34 percent in the first semester compared to last year.”

“It’s logical that differences arouse when you have a trade relation as the one Brazil and Argentina have, which will reach 40 billion dollars this year.”

“Brazil has applied Non-Automatic licenses to the car sector. So the pass of cars to Brazil slowed down due to the logistic issues at the ports, because that’s where they accumulate the cars coming from all over the world (mainly Argentina, Mexico and South-Eastern Asia) that are waiting for the deal and the approval of the Non-Automatic licenses,” they continued.

Referring to alleged inconvenients with the entrance of Brazilian products to Argentina in the clothes sector, sources assured that “the real information indicates that there are not such problems.”
