Telerman 'hopes to be the election's surprise'
The Progressive Front for Buenos Aires mayoral candidate, Jorge Telerman, assured that he foresees he will be “a surprise thanks to split ballots” and highlighted that voting for municipal posts “means returning to the original politics, closer to the people.”
“I hope I’ll be one of those surprises. There are candidates that could pass to a run-off election, but the people have the chance to split ballots in this election and decide,” Telerman assured after voting in a school of Palermo neighbourhood.
The former mayor also praised that the people can vote for municipal mayor's posts, a move which he considered to be a very important step in the right direction.”
“Now people can vote for that person from their neighbourhood that they like and we are all going to know who is getting involved and will work for it,” he continued.
Telerman assured that the “municipal mayor post helps us to commit to our city, it promotes the active participation of the neighbours who will decide and debate their neighbourhood’s budget.”
