'Disagreement should never be used as an excuse to burn down a train,' CFK says
While attending a ceremony at the Churruca Hospital today, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner referred to a report written by Security Minister Nilda Garré that allegedly proves that last May’s sudden burning of 22 trains from the Sarmiento railway line was planned before hand by an “illegal organization.”
A ruling by a San Martín Federal Judge proves that “people had made arrangements before hand in order to carry the attacks on the trains,” she explained.
She assured, however, that “disagreement should never be used as an excuse to burn down a train,” and said that “us Argentines have to agree on the fact that some attitudes can’t be justified.”
Last May 2nd, 22 trains in the Sarmiento railway line were set on fire by alleged passengers who were protesting the train service’s continuous delays. However, the Government had always maintained that the people starting the fires were not passengers but part of an organization who intended to create social conflict.
