Uruguay to make two changes to face Chile
Uruguayan national team coach Oscar Tabárez speaks during a press conference in Mendoza.
Uruguay will make two changes to the side that drew with Peru when they face Chile in their next Copa América clash, coach Oscar Tabárez said.
Sebastian Coates will replace Mauricio Victorino in the heart of defence while Alvaro Pereira will come in for Nicolas Lodeiro in the centre of midfield, Tabárez told a news conference. Both changes are tactical.
"The basic way we play is always the same but we always try to adapt to the characteristics of our opponents, and respect their strong points," the coach said. "That's why I'm making the changes."
Tabárez confirmed that Atlético Madrid defender Diego Godín is still suffering from a throat infection and will not play.
Uruguay face Chile in their Group C clash in Mendoza on Friday.
