Brazil to place debt in bonds
Brazilian President Dilma Roussef
Brazil’s government has announced it will place debt and return to the global market of bonds for the first time since Dilma Roussef was sworn in as president in January.
The Treasury announced that the country will reopen its global 2021 bond, denominated in dollars, with an initial emission towards Europe and the US. A second emission could take place in Asian markets.
Brazil is offering US$500 million, reported International Financing Review. The operation will be leaded by Goldman Sachs and Spanish bank Santander.
Brazil’s most recent action in international markets of bonds took place last October, when it reopened its 2028 global bonds in reais.
