Nalbandián withdraws from the Davis Cup
Tennis player David Nalbandián withdrew from the quarter finals of the Davis Cup to be played in Buenos Aires against Kazakhstan due to an injury, the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT) reported.
“David has a very visible hematoma. The injury is related to his last surgery,” Javier Maquirriain, the doctor of the national team for the Davis Cup, said.
According to the official Twitter account of the AAT, Nalbandian has some trouble in his right adductor.
The Argentine tennis player, who has been recently eliminated by the Swiss Roger Federer in the third round of the Wimbledon Tournament, will be replaced by Eduardo Schwank.
The team will face Kazakhstan on June 7-9, and will be formed by Juan Martín Del Potro, Juan Ignacio Chela, Juan Mónaco and Schwank.
