City government candidates out for the final campaign weekend
Just eight days from the vote, making their last paces in the final campaign weekend, the candidates for Buenos Aires City Government organized different activities to reach out to residents of the Capital.
Current City Mayor Mauricio Macri, who bowed out of the presidential race, to fight for his re-election in the city, toured different city neighbourhoods visiting Pro party tables, who were out in support of his campaign. Later, he was present at the re-inauguration of the first open-air shopping mall which is being remodeled in the city.
Victory Front candidate, Daniel Filmus attended a number of activities throughout the day, in the company of his running mate, Labour Minister Carlos Tomada and the candidate for legislator, Juan Cabandié.
They visited the Comuna 1, from Paraná and Santa Fé to Libertad and Santa Fé. Afterward they passed through Villa 31 to present a project that promotes the law which would urbanize the shanty town. Later, they made their way to Parque Centenario to participate in the Youth Festival.
Project South (Proyecto Sur) candidate, Fernando “Pino” Solanas, got on board the “Pinomobile”, to move his way around the Capital, and spoke with residents and gave out the Buenos Aires City Constitution. He left from the city neighbourhood of Almagro, continuing along to Rivadavia Avenue, stopping on the junction of the main avenues.
Candidate for the Civic Coalition party, María Eugenia Estenssoro, was in Tuñín bar, also in Almagro neighbourhood, speaking with different NGO’s about the Disabled and what Buenos Aires lacks for disabled persons. In the afternoon, she read a children’s story in the Argentine Library for the Blind’s recording studio.
Silvana Giúdici, radical hopeful, took part in an open radio show with neighbourhood organizations and residents in Parque Chacabuco.
