Snow falls in several parts of Buenos Aires province

Snow falls along access to San Luis.

The predictions made by the National Weather Service were met today in some provincial areas of Buenos Aires, as snow began to fall along a part of Route 3, between the areas of Stroeder and Carmen de Patagones. Officials have advised drivers to take special care on the roads.

It was also reported that light snowfall hit the mountainous area of San Luis province early this morning. Snowfall was recorded in the areas of Potrero de los Funes, El Volcán and Carolina, while also affecting the La Punta and San Luis towns, the Civic Defense informed.

The new wave of polar air coming from Patagonia arrived yesterday, covering the central region of the country, which has been predicted to generate especially low temperatures in Buenos Aires with possible snowfall along the Atlantic Coast, weathermen said.

“While the possibility of snowfall along the Atlantic Coast is evident, temperatures factoring wind chill are predicted to fall between “2 and 6 degrees below zero,” sources from SMN informed.

The colder temperatures are expected to stay in place for another week.
