Filmus seeks opposition support in case of round off, offers 'coalition cabinet'

City mayoral candidate Daniel Filmus (L) and running mate Carlos Tomada (R).

The Victory Front mayoral candidate in the City, Daniel Filmus, assured that if in case of a round off he would try to create a front with “all the progressive forces looking for a change in the city.” The current senator even seemed willing to negotiate with candidate Fernando “Pino” Solanas.

Two weeks before the mayoral elections in Buenos Aires, Daniel Filmus said he would offer the Proyecto Sur party, as well as other opposition forces, to include them in a “coalition cabinet” in exchange for their support during a potential round off between Macri and him.

“Of course I would,” he replied when asked if he would negotiate with Solanas.

“But not only with Solanas. We’re willing to create a coalition with all the forces looking for a chance in the city,” he explained.

“Many forces would be willing to support us during a round off and even join us later in a coalition cabinet,” he stated.
