'Trade flow problems between Argentina, Brazil continue to exist,' Brazilian Minister

Brazilian Industry Ministry Executive Secretary Allesandro Teixeira

"Trade flow problems between Argentina and Brazil continue to exist," Industry Ministry Executive Secretary Alessandro Teixera said, regarding the non automatic trade licenses conflict that flared between both countries a few months ago

“There are still trade flow problems. However, a little trouble is always expected between the Mercosur trade bloc members,” Teixeira stated from Asunción, Paraguay, where he is taking part of the Mercosur summit.

Teixeira explained that in order to move forward with negotiations to solve the trade dispute, several private meetings between Brazilian and Argentine negotatiors are being held in Paraguay.

A couple of months ago, Brazil and Argentina had a trade conflict regarding the processing of non-automatic trade licenses, which generated tension between both countries.

However, a series of meetings between Industry Minister Débora Giorgi and her Brazilian counterpart Fernando Pimentel helped solve the dispute.
