'The only way for me to leave River is if I'm dead,' Pasarella

After River Plate was relegated to National B second division, its president, former player Daniel Pasarella said he will “hang on.” “I will have to be taken from here body in a body bag," Pasarella vowed.

After his statements, Pasarella apologized to reporters and said that he "would wait until things cooled down" to keep on talking.

River fans and officials demanded Pasarella resigns after Sunday’s fiasco, which saw the 33 time Argentine champion relegated to the National B for the first time in its rich 110 year old history.

Boca Juniors supporters, River’s lifelong archirivals, wasted no time in printing posters making fun of the Nuñez club’s pitiful situation.
