Del Potro advances in Wimbledon, Nalbandian waves goodbye
Argentine player Juan Martin Del Potro celebrates after beating French player Gilles Simon in a Men''s Singles match at the 2011 Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Argentine tennis player Juan Martín Del Potro classified for the pre-quarter finals of the Wimbledon Cup, the third Grand Slam of the year, after beating the French Gilles Simón by 7-6 (10/8), 7-6 (7/5) and 7-5, and will face the first seeded, Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
Del Potro, who currently is at the 21st place at the ATP, achieved for the first time in his carreer to the second week of Wimbledon after defeating Simón (16) in two hours and 46 minutes.
Argentine player David Nalbandian was defeated Swiss Roger Federer, the third favourite, by 6-4, 6-2, 6-4.
After almost three years without facing each other, Federer slashed Nalbandian in an hour and 46 minutes.
