Airports resume activities, flights heading to South still cancelled

Both Ezeiza and Aeroparque airports began to gradually reschedule flights that were previously cancelled due to the return of the ash cloud produced by the Chilean Puyehue volcano, airlines informed. Those flights heading towards the Southern area of the country are still cancelled.

Earlier, domestic and international flight schedules were disrupted, with many cancellations still in place. Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral informed that flight operations out of Aeroparque were to remain cancelled until 11 am. Lan Argentina slowly began re-scheduling flights from 8.30 am on Saturday.

Aerolíneas Argentinas informed that their international departures would “depend on the weather conditions throughout the day.”

Lan Argentina informed customers that the easiest way to stay informed was to call the airline, or check their website, where regular updates are to be made throughout the day. They also informed that all flights to Bariloche and Neuquén remain cancelled due to the inactivity at the mentioned airports because of the ash cloud.
