Gutiérrez Children's Hospital announces new strike for end of June

Following the Gutiérrez Children’s Hospital’s 24-hour strike staged by doctors, nurses and medical professionals yesterday, staff announced a new 48-hour strike which will take place on the June 28 and 29, furthering their salary demands.

Yesterday, hospital staff staged a 24-hour strike in aid of their demands for higher wages, with workers marching toward the City Doctor’s Association (AMM) in hopes of gaining better recognition by the City Government, and the AMM.

“We strive for the appointment of a ruling for the union, so that town councillors have the support of the assembly and guarantee democracy within the union,” stated protestors.

“We want to resolve the issues through a series of talks, and we are waiting for the City Government to receive us to be able to put forward topics for debate; to enable concrete solutions reverting the crisis in which the hospital is under, and including discussion over wages,” stated the general secretary of the Gutiérrez Hospital branch of the AMM, Silvia De Francesco.
