CFK announces economy grew 9.9% in first quarter

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced the economy grew 9.9% in May, year-on-year..

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced that the economy grew 9.9 percent in the first quarter of the year compared to the volume reported in the same period last year.

Besides, the Head of State stated that the trade surplus reached 4,768 million dollars during the first five month of the year.

“The growth won’t continue like this, but I believe that we are going to grow between 7.5 and 8 percent this year,” the president continued.

Fernández de Kirchner highlighted that General Motors will invest 600 million pesos to increase 25 percent the production of its plant located in Rosario city, where 600 job positions will be created.

The President headed a rally via videoconference from the Government House to inaugurate the “Presidente Néstor Kirchner” airport at Villa María, in Córdoba province. Fernández de Kirchner was not able to attend to the rally due to climate conditions.
