CFK scolds media on Journalist's Day

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner congratulated journalists on the anniversary of the founding of the country’s first newspaper by Mariano Moreno during a ceremony in which she announced a budget extension on the country's radar systems at the Government House.

Immediately after her congratulatory message, she joked saying that it would be convenient to set up a radar that detects "media manipulation," although she warned that it would "quickly overheat."

Every June 7th, Argentina commemorates the founding of La gazeta de Buenos Ayres, the country's first newspaper, by forefather Mariano Moreno in 1810.
