CFK meets with Mexican Malvinas solidarity group
In her last activity in Mexico before travelling to Italy, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner met with members of the Mexican Malvinas solidarity group, with whom she analyzed the possibility of setting up a committee in support of the cause of the Argentine claim of sovereignty over the islands.
The National Autonomous Mexica University dean José Narro Robles, the president of the Mexico School, Javier Garcíadiego and Mexican Foreign Minister Jorge Castañeda took part of the meeting, which was held at the St. Regis hotel in Mexico city.
The meeting’s main point was the possibility of setting up a regional Support Committee to the cause of Argentina’a claim of sovereignty over the Malvinas , Georgia and Southern Sandwich islands.
Before the meeting, Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman commented on the support that Mexico has given Argentina over the years regarding the sovereignty over the Malvinas islands.
